This is an original AMT kit from 1962. I bought it as a built-up model on eBay. |
It was in pretty decent shape, but needed full restoration. |

Here it is disassembled. The original hood had a big chunk missing on the left rear corner so I
got a resin replacement from the Modelhaus.

An overnight soak in Castrol Super Clean got rid of the old paint. Hubcaps, front grille/bumper and rear bumper were replated by Chrome Tech

It's amazing what fresh paint and Bare Metal Foil can do for an old model. |

There is one flaw that I need to correct. The outer edges of the interior tub need to be trimmed out in body color. The white sticks out like a sore thumb! |
